I fell in love with Public Relations while working for Text 100 - Microsoft's PR company and at The European Commission in Brussels. I worked in PR, marketing and publishing in London before finding my way back to Suffolk.
Text 100 taught me a lot. Working with one of the most successful companies in the world was a fantastic learning experience and was very exciting. The launch of Dreamworks in the UK was particularly memorable as was working with the teams behind Eastenders and Hollyoaks.
It was a chance conversation with author and journalist, Sarah Foot that persuaded me to set up my own company. I was really surprised to learn that authors (even established ones) these days are offered very little in the way of book promotion and having read Sarah's book, 'Fragments', I wanted to see if I could help make it succeed. I designed a website, worked with Sarah on marketing material, liaised with journalists and editors, organised radio and newspaper interviews, spread the word via Facebook and Twitter - all to ensure that even before the book came out, people were talking about it!
Since then I have worked with some really exciting clients from dancers to actresses, writers to life coaches, film companies to food producers, authors to theatres. I have also written regularly about Suffolk for the local lifestyle press including The Suffolk Magazine, and Suffolk Norfolk Life.
I then started working with a dogfriendly holiday cottage portfolio near Framlingham and found that I loved working in the tourism sector. Connecting with guests/followers, particularly in the Dog Friendly community has been an absolute joy.
I work closely with small businesses, often Holiday Cottages, these days to help them set up and develop their Social Media . I manage their social media on a day to day basis taking that particular worry off their hands but always staying in close contact to ensure that everything I post is relevant and on brand.
